Overview

An Osler-alumni exclusive event

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the single biggest predictor of leadership success. Research shows that EQ alone explains 58% of a leader’s job performance and that 90% of top performers are high in EQ. As a lawyer, you must collaborate with other professionals in your organization to get work done. Understanding your own workstyle preferences, as well as those of your colleagues, is one way to enable better communication and collaboration, and expand your influence.

As workstyle preferences vary greatly, DiSC – a widely used behavioural profile assessment tool - provides a practical window into the principles of emotional intelligence and provides strategies for working more effectively with colleagues having different workstyle preferences.

We invite you to join us on November 30 for DiSC workshop exclusively for our alumni. Participating in this session will:

  • Teach you about the key principles of emotional intelligence
  • Help you identify your work style preferences and how these impact others
  • Teach you how to recognize key characteristics of other styles, the value they bring to the workplace, and how to leverage differences
  • Give you a framework for flexing your preferred style to better communicate, collaborate with and influence colleagues, staff and clients

A few days before the session, you will receive a link to complete an online and confidential personal DiSC Assessment. The assessment takes about 10 minutes to complete and immediately generates a personalized report that will be useful in the workshop.
